Alexandra is a Maine native that came to Texas to escape the cold and attend the University of Texas at Austin. She fell in love with Austin on her first visit and enjoyed her time on the UT campus to the fullest. In January of 2016, she began interning at Charity Charge and by graduation that May she was hired on as Chief of Staff. Alexandra graduated with a B.A. in History and a certificate for a focus in Human Rights and Social Justice.
Alexandra loves working at Charity Charge because it allows her to be part of making the world a better place. She takes UT’s motto “What starts here changes the world” seriously and feels like she is fulfilling this sentiment with her work at Charity Charge. The movement to infuse giving into everyday life is exactly what Alexandra wants to be a part of and help grow.
In her free time, Alexandra can be found in the sun, out with friends, walking her dog Quinn, or lounging on the couch with a book or some serious Netflix bingeing. Alexandra loves to walk around Austin and discover new places to grab a coffee, happy hour drink, or some great food. If you need a good brunch recommendation Alexandra is your girl; just don’t ask her on Sunday, she’s busy at brunch.
Alexandra’s Charity Charge World MasterCard donates 1% of her purchases (increased by her brunch habit) to the Alzheimer’s Association. Both her maternal great-grandmother and grandmother suffered from the disease and Alexandra saw the toll the diagnosis can take on an extended family, making the cause close to her heart. Through their invaluable support tools and funding of research, the Alzheimer’s Association looks to help all of those who have a connection to Alzheimer’s, families and patients alike.
