The Mill at Anselma was named a National Historic Landmark in 2005, although the organization has been celebrating the property and its rich history since 1998. Based in Chester Springs, Pennsylvania and resting on 22 acres, The Mill “retains its original Colonial-Era power train, as well as multiple layers of industrial equipment ranging from the late 1700s to the mid 1900s.”

Today, The Mill is open to the public and hosts educational and entertaining events. They strive to fulfill a mission to, “Inspire people in creative ways to discover the Mill’s authentic technology and importance to its community over three centuries of operation.”

Our historic homestead is a really special place within our county, our state, and our country. With an original grain mill and six other buildings, the Mill at Anselma demonstrates how life was lived in the colonial-era all the way through the Great Depression.

As Executive Director, I’m always thrilled by the sense of discovery visitors find when they come to our site. We serve several thousand people a year visiting, in various capacities: school group tours, an annual benefit dinner, our Second Saturday educational series, a 5K race, and many more creative ways to explore history.”

We encourage you to find out more about this historic site, especially if you reside in Pennsylvania or plan to visit soon! The Mill at Anselma is sure to be an enriching experience for all ages.
