Charity Charge takes NYC

On Thursday, October 13th, the Charity Charge team traveled to NYC, where we had a busy few days ahead of us. Check out our first episode of Behind the Charge to get an inside look into this travel day. Stay tuned for future episodes showing the entire trip or watch our NYC in 99 seconds video for a sneak peak.

Friday was full of meetings with incredible organizations such as the Michael J. Fox Foundation, Google, MasterCard, Pencils of Promise, and the Endometriosis Foundation. It was a fun, productive, and amazing day where we came up with new initiatives, strengthened current relationships, and built new partnerships.

Charity Charge Tent

For our big trip to the Big Apple, we acquired our brand new Charity Charge tent. Whenever we participate in an outdoor event we’ll have our tent there so that Charity Charge can be seen from far and wide in rain, shine, or snow…well hopefully not snow. Honestly, we can’t get enough of this tent and keep looking for reasons to put it up.

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer

We are very proud to have been a part of the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk in Central Park hosted by the American Cancer Society. Thousands of people (about 55,000 actually) participated in the event to raise awareness for breast cancer.

Charity Charge was very fortunate enough to have 10 outstanding volunteers come out and help us spread the word about how the Charity Charge World MasterCard can be used to help fund the fight against breast cancer just by making everyday purchases. We had a great time interacting with participants and people were thrilled to find out how easy it is to give back every day. Plus, we got to debut our Charity Charge tent (seriously we love it)! You can give back to the American Cancer Society every day with your Charity Charge World MasterCard too, just click here.

Although it was chilly out, we were lucky enough to have Lulu Lemon provide us with great pullovers. Bombas also provided us with warm socks to wear, protecting us from the NYC cold. Not only were we warm, but we were looking good! Everybody loved our gear, so we were sure to tell the participants about these two great companies. We also were fortunate enough to have Daily Greens donate their delicious juice, which we gave out to walkers to keep them hydrated. It’s great when awesome companies can come together to do good.

Poverty is Unnecessary Day with the Whole Planet Foundation

On the 25th of October, we participated in the Poverty is Unnecessary Day with the Whole Planet Foundation. This day marks the 11th anniversary of the Foundation’s launch. We set up our brand new Charity Charge Tent (we told you we’re obsessed) on the rooftop of Whole Foods Market in downtown Austin, where we helped promote Whole Planet Foundation’s mission of alleviating poverty around the world through microcredit. Not only did we have a great time helping out, we also got to do some yoga and listen to amazing live local musicians while watching the sunset, it was truly a great event.
