Charity Charge was created to provide a free and easy way to support nonprofits

We believe that nonprofits should have access to a “business” credit card designed specifically for their needs.

We work with organizations nationally as large as $100 million in revenue including chapters from United Way, Junior League and YMCA.

Charity Charge is a Public Benefit Corporation based in Austin, Texas and founded by social entrepreneur Stephen Garten (read his story).

Founder / CEO

“Each and every day my passion for running Charity Charge is reignited by my daily conversations with our current nonprofit clients and new ones just learning about CC for the first time. This is not my job. This is my passion and mission in life. What we’re able to do for nonprofits is something no other ‘credit card company’ has bothered to do. I’m so proud of our credit card offering that’s helping nonprofits all across the country.“

“I was first exposed to Charity Charge when Stephen presented to my Social Entrepreneurship class during my junior year at the University of Texas. At the time I was also president of the UT Service Scholars program where I was personally volunteering and coordinating on behalf of other students to volunteer in the community. Participating in the service-learning course opened my eyes to a career that focuses on service and supporting the nonprofit community so joining the Charity Charge team has been a perfect fit.”

“Growing up I always knew that I wanted to help and make a difference in my community. After graduating from Concordia University, I met Stephen who brought me onto the Charity Charge team. This opportunity has provided me to be able to give back to nonprofit organizations who are doing even more for their communities Now, I couldn’t be happier working in a team filled with like-minded individuals who are equally as passionate to support others.”

“I have been an active volunteer and passionate about making a positive impact on the community from a young age. After graduating from Concordia University, I was looking for a job which I knew would lead to a change in peoples lives. I was lucky to be introduced to Stephen and Charity Charge through my social network and I was immediately motivated to work at Charity Charge. Now I am lucky to speak with nonprofit leaders every day and help them to make an impact in their community. “

“As the host of the Giving Back Podcast, I’ve met hundreds of nonprofit, community and business leaders doing amazing things for those in need. I knew there was something special about Charity Charge. After watching Stephen Garten’s South by Southwest presentation and interviewing him, I realized that Charity Charge’s business model is based on one relentlessly optimistic principle: making it easy for people to do good. When I used my Charity Charge card the first time, I felt a little bit of joy knowing that my purchase helped a charity I know and love make a difference in someone’s life.  I still feel that joy every time I use my card.”

WATCH SOME VIDEOS OF OUR JOURNEY

We began in June 2016 with our consumer credit card that allowed individuals to give their 1% cash back to any nonprofit of their choice. Through working closely with many nonprofits we discovered a massive need amongst them for a business credit card specifically designed for nonprofit organizations. Therefore, we built the Charity Charge Nonprofit Business Card with nonprofit needs in mind. We believe in creating more profits for your nonprofit.
